In a heart-wrenching incident, a brave Doberman fought till death to protect the family of his owner, Dibakar Raita, by killing four cobras that could have harmed them. The family resides in the village of Sebekapur in the Gajapati district, 400 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, and is still in shock. “I am amazed. He sacrificed everything to keep my family safe,” a clearly touched Dibakar cried out to God and added, “May his soul rest in peace.” This incident shows the unbreakable bond between humans and their dogs, who consider their owners as their family and go to any extent to protect them.
The snake species commonly known as mountain cobras have been identified in the area. These reptiles are often seen during the monsoon season when their nests fill up with water.
On Monday night, the Doberman guarding the front gate prevented four snakes from entering the house. The dog fought the snakes as they tried to climb higher. The fight reportedly continued for a long time and there was a ton of devastation. The dog kept the human family under watch until the four snakes were taken out. Due to the deadly quality of the snakes’ blood, the dog immediately collapsed before its ashes were interred. The neighbors organized a funeral procession and put floral wreaths on them.
